OUR TASK
In 2017, IUAV University celebrated Carlo Scarpa's 90th birthday with two exhibitions taking place at Tolentini, the historical site of the University. The temporary installation is built for the exhibition "Guido Guidi. Indagine sulla tomba Brion” .
the context
Historically considered the headquarters of the school of architecture, the former convent of Tolentini hosts the director's office and the library. Since 2017, the building has housed exhibitions on the themes of art and architecture opened to the IUAV community and the city.
the project
Barman architects, in collaboration with Mariano Andreani, provided the design and production of a display wall where the pictures were attached.
The challenge was to keep using Aula Magna while the exhibition was running.
The project tries to minimize its presence, becoming a new gate for the university community's most representative “room“.
Short-term becoming long-term!
At the end of the exhibition, due to its great success, the display panels were kept to host further drawings and frames, and the installation became part of the permanent museum itinerary inside the former convent.
